Featured Class: Row Flow, DC Row, 790 Maine Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024

I have used a rowing machine before, usually as part of a warm-up or to break up my gym workout. I never thought I would enjoy 50 minutes on a rowing machine. But then I checked out my first rowing class the other day in DC Row, the new, hip waterfront area of Southwest, DC. I loved it! The class, Row Flow, was the prefect introduction to rowing. It was a great low impact workout that focused on the core and upper body. The class was broken up into easy-to-manage segments that focused on strength and form, with an emphasis on mindfulness. The meditative, rhythmic sound of the rowing machines lent themselves to the kind of mindfulness I needed to slow down while remaining active.

These leggings are super soft and comfortable. I was excited to try it out for yoga. While the leggings feel and fit great, the waistband has a tendency to roll while doing forward bends during yoga. I found this distracting and uncomfortable. Personally, I need more compression in my waistband for my body type.  I was almost resigned to adding the leggings to my athleisure-only wear, but then I tried them for rowing. They were amazing! The leggings performed great. They stayed in place with the right amount of “hug” to my legs and hips. Rowing is a low impact, but cardio intensive workout. I was surprised at how the fabric also kept me cool. These leggings are good investment in legging that will keep you cool and comfortable.
